Spray painters strike 4 cars on Brown

Four vehicles were defaced by spray paint overnight in the 1900 block of Brown Avenue. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Criminal Damage

1900 Brown

A 1999 Honda, a 2007 Hyundai, a 1998 Toyota, and a 2015 Ford were spray-painted by vandals between 6 p.m. yesterday and 1:30 a.m. today.

Battery

519 Main

George William Reed, 57, of 1645 W. LeMoyne Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 519 Main St. at 4:59 p.m. yesterday and charged with battery. He is due in court on Aug. 14 at 9 a.m.

Graffiti

1100 Monroe

Griffit was discovered on a sidewalk in the 1100 block of Monroe Street at about 10 a.m. yesterday.

200 Richmond

Graffiti was discovered at a park in the 200 block of Richmond Avenue at 5:08 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

1900 Orrington

A man’s Diamondback road bicycle, left unattended in the driveway of a home in the 1900 block of Orrington Avenue, was stolen between 1:20 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. yesterday.

1900 Dodge

Patio furniture was stolen from the yard of a home in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue between 10 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday.

800 Mulford                                                        

A 2015 Subaru was stolen from an apartment parking space in the 800 block of Mulford Street between May 16 and 1:38 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

Crain at Dodge

Christopher M.  Holecsek, 33, of 95 Golfview Road, Lake Zurich, was arrested at Crain Street and Dodge Avenue at 9:35 p.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on July 19 at 10:30 a.m.
