Theft

500 Asbury

Cash was taken from a hospital gown at a nursing home in the 500 block of Asbury Avenue between 7 p.m. Thursday and 11:22 a.m. Friday.

1400 Chicago

A purse was taken while unsecured at a religious institution in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday.

1600 Sherman

Merchandise was taken from a retail establishment in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue around 4:15 p.m. yesterday.

Dewey at Davis

An attempt was made to steal a bicycle that was locked near Dewey Avenue and Davis Street at 3:53 p.m. Friday.

1600 Simpson

A snowblower was stolen from the yard of a home in the 1600 block of Simpson Street around 12:33 a.m. Friday.

Battery

2650 Ridge

Rasheed A. Sanders, 35, of 15957 S. Halsted St., Harvey, was arrested at 2650 Ridge Ave. at 12:05 a.m. Friday and charged with battery. He is due in court on March 19 at 9 a.m.

Burglary

2200 Ewing

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2012 Honda in the 2200 block of Ewing Avenue between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:45 a.m. Thursday.

Criminal Damage

Lake at Chicago

The driver’s window was smashed and the mirror was hanging from a 2014 Honda near Lake Street and Chicago Avenue around 9 p.m. Friday.

300 Ridge

Someone damaged the wall outlet, mirrors, and bathroom rack at an office at Presence St. Francis Hospital around 6:13 p.m. yesterday.

Shots Heard

Greenleaf at Fowler

Gunshots were reported at Greenleaf Street and Fowler Avenue at 12:31 a.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Traffic

1200 Crain

Omari T. Johnson, 34, of 1216 Harvard Terrace, was arrested at 1200 Crain St. at 3:30 p.m. Friday and charged with aggrevated driving under the influence.

114 Ridge

Julio Segura, 26, of 2012 Warren St., was arrested at 114 Ridge Ave. at 10:48 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on March 12 at 10:30 a.m.
