Copper thieves hit apartment complex on Sherman

Someone removed copper from the front of an apartment building in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue. This among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Theft

1500 Sherman

Copper was removed from the front of an apartment building in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue between March 12 and March 13.

800 Seward

A package containing clothing items that had been delivered to an apartment common area in the 800 block of Seward Street was stolen around noon on March 12.

1600 Sherman

Merchandise was stolen from a store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue around 9:24 p.m. Saturday.

2400 Main

Merchandise was stolen from a convenience store in the 2400 block of Main Street between 11:20 a.m. and 1:01 p.m. Saturday.

Battery

1300 Asbury

Alina Smith, 19, of 8730 Kimball Ave., Skokie, was arrested at 1300 Asbury Ave. at 4:58 p.m. Saturday and charged with domestic battery. She is due in court on April 3 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

2300 Brown

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2016 Subaru in the 2300 block of Brown Avenue between 4 p.m. Friday and 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Drugs

1411 Grove

Fredo Demaret, 24, of 518 Douglas Ave., Waukegan, was arrested at 1411 Grove St. at 6:34 p.m. Saturday and charged with possession of cannabis.

Graffiti

South Boulevard and Dewey

Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk at South Boulevard and Dewey Avenue at 9:02 a.m. Friday.

700 Dodge

Graffiti was discovered at a retail establishment in the 700 block of Dodge Avenue at 2:53 p.m. Friday.

300 Howard

Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 300 block of Howard Street at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Shots Heard

100 Clyde

Gunshots were reported in the 100 block of Clyde Avenue at 9:05 p.m. Friday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Traffic

Ridge at Oakton

Natisha Castle, 43, of 2655 W. 68th St., Chicago, was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Oakton Street at 6:33 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation.

1200 Ridge

Quincy Rhone, 24, of 8015 S. Maplewood Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1200 Ridge Ave. at 9:24 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
