Burglar takes cash from unlocked home

A burglary of cash occurred yesterday at a home in the 2100 block of Keeney Street, aided by an unlocked back door. This among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

2100 Keeney

Cash was taken from a home in the 2100 block of Keeney Street, thanks to an unlocked back door, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. yesterday.

300 Dewey

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2016 Subaru in the 300 block of Dewey Avenue between 1 a.m. and 7:05 a.m. yesterday.

Assault

536 Hinman

Costel Sfredel, 46, of 536 Hinman Ave., was arrested at that address at 8:32 p.m. yesterday and charged with assault in a domestic incident.

Battery

1400 Chicago

A victim was struck by a garbage can at a mental health facility in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue around 9:09 a.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

300 Main

Someone broke a window at a condominium in the 300 block of Main Street around 8:16 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

2400 Main

Clothing items were taken by an employee at Sam’s Club in the 2400 block of Main Street on April 8.

1100 Chicago

Alcoholic products were stolen from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 6:04 p.m. yesterday.

1600 Sherman

A wallet containing photo identification, cash, and credit cards was taken from an unsecured location at the L.A. Fitness health club in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 1:30 p.m. and 2:24 p.m. yesterday.

2000 Jackson

A maroon 2013 Ford utility vehicle was taken from the 2000 block of Jackson Avenue around 9:16 a.m. yesterday.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
