Threatened with a knife in Trader Joe’s lot

A 25-year-old woman said she was threatened yesterday by a fellow shopper with a knife in the Trader Joe’s parking lot on Chicago Avenue. This among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.


1200 Chicago

When a 25-year-old woman complained about a rolling grocery cart in the Trader Joe's parking lot that was about to hit her vehicle at about 9 a.m. yesterday, the shopper she described as a tall person in his late 20s threatened her with a knife, she told police. When she returned to her vehicle after doing her shopping, one of her tires was flat, police said.


1800 Maple

Stereo equipment was stolen from a residential garage in the 1800 block of Maple Avenue between 11 p.m. Monday and noon yesterday,


Oakton at McCormick

Jeloni  A. Turner, 21, of 8526 McCormick Blvd., Skokie, was arrested at Oakton Street and McCormick Boulevard at 10:06 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. A court date has been set for July 24 at 1:30 p.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
