Four reports of gunshots heard in the city were checked out by Evanston police over the recent weekend, all south of Emerson Street. These are among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.
Crain at Florence
Gunshots were reported in the vicinity of Crain Street and Florence Avenue at 12:55 a.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.
Gunshots were reported in the 1800 block of Darrow Avenue at 7:50 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.
Custer at Brummel
Gunshots were reported in the vicinity of Brummel Street and Custer Avenue at 8:28 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.
Mulford at Callan
Gunshots were reported in the vicinity of Mulford Street and Callan Avenue at 10:25 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.
Lacara S. Reckley, 37, of 1749 Hartrey Ave., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 12:04 p.m. Thursday and charged with battery.
Oleva S. Tabannah, 38, of 1707 Emerson St., was arrested at 2121 Darrow Ave. at 4:15 p.m. Friday and charged with domestic battery. She is due in court on June 26 at 9:30 a.m.
Cash and a bag were taken from an unlocked 2018 Honda in the 1000 block of Hinman Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 9:15 a.m. Saturday.
Nothing was reported missing from the burglary of an unlocked 2011 Buick in the 1000 block of Hinman Avenue between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 9:15 a.m. Saturday.
Someone forced their way into a restaurant in the 1300 block of Chicago Avenue between 11 p.m. Saturday and 12:11 p.m. yesterday and stole cash.
A burglar entered a facility in the 1900 block of Dempster Street between 5:28 a.m. and 7:52 a.m. Saturday and damaged a garage glass pane. Nothing was reported taken.
A burglar entered via an unlocked door to an apartment in the 1700 block of Ridge Avenue between 12:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Friday and took a laptop computer.
A purse was taken from an unlocked 2019 Tesla in the parking lot in the 1800 block of Maple Avenue between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday.
Two slits were found to the seams on top of a 2008 Honda in the 2400 block of Harrison Street. The damage occurred between 6 p.m. Friday and 5:52 a.m. Saturday.
Someone kicked paint on the ground at a restaurant in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue at 2:51 p.m. Saturday.
Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 500 block of Main Street at 2:05 p.m. Friday.
Fowler at Dempster
Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk at Fowler Avenue and Dempster Street at 5:27 p.m. Friday.
Ridge at Dobson
Someone reported seeing a man with a gun at Ridge Avenue and Dobson Street at 9:11 a.m. Friday. Police checked the area but found no man with a gun.
A bicycle was taken while secured at a parking lot in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue around 9:49 p.m. Saturday.
Someone stole a can of pepper spray from Auto Zone in the 1100 block of Dodge Avenue at 6 p.m. Friday.
Personal items belonging to two employees of the Bat 17 Restaurant in the 1700 block of Benson Avenue were stolen from a rear storage room around 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Hygeine products were taken from the shelves of a pharmacy in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue at 9:40 p.m. Saturday.
Photo equipment was taken from a 1992 Subaru that was parked in the 1900 block of Jackson Avenue at 12:08 p.m. Saturday.
Susan Everhart, 52, of 2026 N. Clark St., Chicago, was arrested at 707 Washington St. at 5:58 p.m. Saturday and charged with retail theft. She is due in court on July 8 at 9 a.m.
Salvador A. Ferrara, 34, of 8713 Callie, Morton Grove, was arrested at that address at 3:35 a.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on July 29 at 9 a.m.
Cameron M. Jones, 18, of 2323 Lake St., was arrested at 808 Forest Ave. at 6 a.m. Friday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on July 22 at 9 a.m.
2200 Central Park
Charles M. Martell, 43, of 2645 Prairie Ave., was arrested at 2200 Central Park Ave. at 11:01 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on July 17 at 1:30 p.m.
Church at Pitner
Isaiah Denzel Reyes, 22, of 907 Tralee Court, Gurnee, was arrested at Church Street and Pitner Avenue at 12:15 a.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on July 22 at 9 a.m.
An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
