Burglars fail at breakin attempt on Bradley

Burglars gave up after failing an attempt to break into a home in the 2400 block of Bradley Place by cutting the window screen. This among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

2400 Bradley

An attempt to cut a window screen to enter a home in the 2400 block of Bradley Place failed between 9:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. yesterday.

800 Mulford

An attempt to pry out the nails to the back door of an apartment common area in the 800 block of Mulford Street between 1:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. yesterday was unsuccessful.

Drugs

2011 Grey

Sheldon C. Graham, 21, of 2011 Grey Ave., was arrested at that address at 10:13 p.m. yesterday and charged with possession of cannabis. He is due in court on Aug. 12 at 9 a.m.

Graffiti

600 Brummel

Graffiti was discovered on a playground in the 600 block of Brummel Street at 9:38 a.m. yesterday.

Other

265 Harms

Leonardo Gomez, 18, of 835 Seward St., was arrested at 265 Harms Road at 7:48 p.m. yesterday and charged with violating an order of protection. He is due in court on July 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Shots Heard

200 Grey

Gunshots were reported in the 200 block of Grey Avenue at 9:38 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

1500 Hinman

A bicycle secured to a bike rack was stolen from the 1500 block of Hinman Avenue between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 5:30 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

Dempster at Oak

Pradipta Das, 30, of 1033 Dempster St., was arrested at Dempster Street and Oak Avenue at 12:30 p.m. Sunday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Aug. 1 at 10:30 a.m.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
