2 safes stolen from home on Harrison

Two safes containing family documents and expensive jewelry were stolen from the basement of a home in the 2100 block of Harrison Street. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Theft

2100 Harrison

The family that lives in a home in the 2100 block of Harrison Street noticed that two safes stored in their basement that contained family documents and expensive jewelry were missing. The thefts could have occurred any time between Dec. 25, 2018, and yesterday, they told police.

1600 Sherman

A case for an Apple cell phone was taken from a retail establishment in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 7:02 p.m. and 7:26 p.m. yesterday.

Battery

607 Lake

Ryan O. Bailey, 35, of 1406 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 607 Lake St. at 11:51 a.m. yesterday and charged with battery. He is due in court on Aug. 12 at 9 a.m.

Burglary

1900 Sherman

A laptop computer was taken from an apartment in the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue between 8:55 a.m. and 5:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Criminal Damage

1700 Main

A cell phone was damaged on a bus around 1700 Main Street between 12:20 p.m. and 12:26 p.m. yesterday.

Graffiti

600 Dempster

Graffiti was discovered on the street in the 600 block of Dempster Street at 11:13 a.m. yesterday.

Other

2043 Darrow

Clarence Cavines, 43, of 6330 N. Magnolia Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2043 Darrow Ave. at 12:09 p.m. yesterday and charged with violation of an order of protection. He is due in court on July 24 at 9:30 a.m.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
