Gold watch, cash taken in armed robbery on Callan

A 25-year-old Evanston man, walking home from work on Callan Avenue at 2:25 a.m. yesterday, was approached by two black males wearing hoodies who displayed a handgun and took his gold watch and $30. This among the stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Robbery

100 Callan

Two armed robbers took a gold watch and $30 in cash from a 25-year-old Evanston man who was walking home from work in the 100 block of Callan Avenue at 2:25 a.m. yesterday. The suspects, black males wearing dark hoodies, fled the scene in a silver SUV, the victim told police.

Battery

609 Elmwood

Juan G. Sanchez-Sepulveda, 44, of 609 Elmwood Ave., was arrested at that address at 1:28 a.m. Saturday and charged with domestic battery.

Burglary.

2200 Washington

An unlocked window provided access for a burglar to a home in the 2200 block of Washington Street at about 3:54 a.m. Saturday. Missing was a gaming system.

500 Michigan

An unlocked 2003 Honda was entered between 6 p.m. Saturday and 11:45 a.m. yesterday in the 500 block of Michigan Avenue

1100 Chicago

A purse or wallet was taken from a vehicle in a business parking lot in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 11 a.m. Saturday.

2000 Ewing

A bicycle was taken from an unlocked garage of a home in the 2000 block of Ewing Avenue between 6 p.m. Saturday and 8:15 a.m. Sunday.

900 Hamlin

An open window provided access to an apartment in the 900 block of Hamlin Street, where a burglar stole a laptop computer between 9:30 p.m. and midnight yesterday.

600 Case

Photo identification was taken from a 2016 Dodge in an apartment parking space in the 600 block of Case Place between 11 p.m. Saturday and 6:32 a.m. yesterday.

600 Mulford

An unlocked 2016 Nissan was entered by a burglar between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 9:13 a.m. yesterday in an apartment parking space in the 600 block of Mulford Street.

800 Mulford

A laptop computer was taken from an apartment in the 800 block of Mulford Street after a forced entry between 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

1600 Benson

Someone damaged a door on a Chicago Transit Authority train at 1600 Benson Avenue around 2:42 a.m. yesterday.

2013 Jackson

Andre J. Mhoon, 25, of 2110 Dewey Ave., was arrested at 2013 Jackson Ave. at 10:53 p.m. Saturday and charged with knowingly damaging property. He is due in court on Sept. 4 at 1:30 p.m.

1618 Benson

Marco Ramirez, 25, of 7233 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago, and Jeremy D. Watson, 20, of 707 Seward St., were arrested at 1618 Benson Ave. at 4:38 a.m. yesterday and charged with knowingly damaging property. They are due in court on Aug. 22 at 9 a.m.

5600 Old Orchard

Autae L. Williams, 37, of 120 Callan Ave., was arrested at 5600 Old Orchard Road at 11:30 a.m. Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Graffiti

1100 Lake Shore

Graffiti was discovered at a park in the 1100 block of Lake Shore Boulevard at 11:30 a.m. yesterday.

Other

300 Dodge

George W. Lytle, 74, of 1728 Brown Ave., was arrested at 300 Dodge Ave. at 2:25 p.m. Friday and charged with violating an order of protection. He is due in court on Aug. 7 at 9:30 a.m.

100 Chicago

A criminal sexual act was committed in the 100 block of Chicago Avenue at 3:03 a.m. Friday.

Theft

1100 Monroe

An unsecured bicycle was taken from an apartment common area in the 1100 block of Monroe Street between 7:45 a.m. and 8 a.m. yesterday.

900 Sherman

A gray 2007 Ford Explorer was taken by a known offender in the 900 block of Sherman Avenue at about 12:37 a.m. Saturday.

1600 Sherman

Merchandise was taken from a store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at about 5 p.m. Thursday.

Cash was removed from the tip jar of a restaurant in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

2200 Main

A grey 2011 Chevrolet Traverse with no license plate was stolen in the 2200 block of Main Street between 10 p.m. Thursday and 8:43 a.m. Friday.

900 Dodge

Cosmetics were taken from Walgreens Pharmacy in the 900 block of Dodge Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. Friday.

1600 Dodge

A bicycle was stolen from the Evanston Township High School grounds between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday.

1900 Dempster

An unsecured bicycle was stolen from a restaurant in the 1900 block of Dempster Street  around 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

2400 Main

License plates were removed from a vehicle in the 2400 block of Main Street between July 7 and 7:36 p.m. Saturday.

800 Church

Furniture that had been delivered to an apartment common area in the 800 block of Church Street was stolen between 9:13 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

1600 Hinman

A bicycle that was unsecured at a bike rack in the 1600 block of Hinman Avenue was stolen around 11:38 a.m. Saturday.

Traffic

1407 Foster

Kelly Miguel Jones, 22, of 2001 W. Summerdale Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1407 Foster St. at 7:40 a.m. yesterday and charged with driving on a revoked or suspended license. He is due in court on Aug. 26  at 1:30 p.m.

1515 Dobson

Dewayne W. Martinez-Roberts, 24, of 2122 Dobson St., was arrested at 1515 Dobson St. at 1:13 p.m. Saturday and charged with reckless driving. He is due in court on Aug. 22 at 1:30 p.m.

610 Ridge

William B. Mikesell, 29, of 1727 Wildberry Drive, Glenview, was arrested at 610 Ridge Ave. at 2:26 a.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He is due in court on Aug.  12  at 10:30 a.m.

9312 Kilbourn

Jahde O. Smith, 25, of 9 Kingsport Drive, Schaumburg, was arrested at 9312 Kilbourn Ave. at 2:28 p.m. yesterday and charged with fleeing after a police officer signaled to pull over.

1834 Hartrey

Jerell D. Williams, 28, of 2110 Dewey Ave., was arrested at 1834 Hartrey Ave. at 6:54 p.m. Saturday and charged with driving on a revoked or suspended license. He is due in court on Aug. 12 at 9 a.m.

1834 Birchwood

Isiah Jeremiah Woodard, 21, of 1834 W. Birchwood Ave., Chicago, was arrested at that address at 10:56 a.m. Friday and charged with driving on a revoked or suspended license.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
