Burglars swipe jewelry from Custer Apartment

Jewelry was among items taken from an apartment in the 500 block of Custer Avenue by burglars who forced their way inside. This among the stories in today’s daily crime report from Evanston police.

500 Custer

Jewelry, an appliance, and non-negotiable instruments were listed as taken from an apartment in the 500 block of Custer Avenue by burglars who forced their way inside between 6 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. yesterday.

2100 Washington

An open window provided access to a home in the 2100 block of Washington Street for burglars who took a cell phone between 10 p.m. Saturday and 6:15 a.m. Sunday.

Criminal Damage

1100 Chicago

Someone damaged a bicycle on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

900 Seward

A Forest Green Raleigh M30 bicycle was taken from a bike rack in the 900 block of Seward Street between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. yesterday.

500 Asbury

A purse was stolen from a nursing home in the 500 block of Asbury Avenue between 10 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. yesterday.

1900 Sherman

A bicycle was taken from an apartment parking space in the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue between 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday.

1800 Dodge

A chainsaw, weed trimmer, and hedge clippers were taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 1800 block of Dodge Avenue around 12:42 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

2118 Ewing

Alicia R. Faulkner, 38, of 2118 Ewing Ave., was arrested at that address at 6:20 p.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. She is due in court on Sept. 11 at 9 a.m.

 An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
