Bicycle stolen from yard on Emerson

A bicycle was stolen from the yard of a home in the 1800 block of Emerson Street. This among the stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Theft

1800 Emerson

An unsecured bicycle was taken from the yard of a home in the 1800 block of Emerson Street around 5:19 a.m. yesterday.

800 Davis

A purse was stolen from an athletic club in the 800 block of Davis Street between 10 a.m. and 11:37 a.m. yesterday.

1100 Chicago

Liquor products were stolen from a store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 3:43 p.m. yesterday.

Jerome at Albany

Mergim Mehmeti, 25, of 2954 Arthur Ave., Chicago, was arrested at Jerome Street and Albany Avenue in Chicago at 3:50 a.m. today and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Aug. 29 at 9 a.m.

1111 Chicago

Ringo Travis, 54, of 1749 E. 69th St., Chicago, was arrested at 1111 Chicago Ave. at 9:20 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Aug. 21 at 10:30 a.m.

Battery

1454 Elmwood

Eric D. Simmons, 30, of 117 Callan Ave., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday and charged with aggrevated battery.

Graffiti

1600 Sherman

Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at 7:15 a.m. today.

Other

1809 Lake

Andre X. Laden, 26, of 1809 Lake St., was arrested at that address at 10:47 p.m. yesterday and charged with unlawful use of a weapon as a felon.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
