A 74-year-old Evanston woman noticed that her wallet was missing from her purse when she returned home from shopping at Trader Joe’s grocery store in the 1200 block of Chicago Avenue around 10:45 a.m. yesterday.
A DVD player was stolen from a store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue around 6 p.m. Sunday.
Candice E. McGhee, 27, of 1458 Canal St., Chicago, was arrested at 729 Emerson St. at 10:32 a.m. Wednesday and charged with theft. She is due in court on Sept. 29 at 9 a.m.
Robert John Romozzi, 48, of 2300 Noyes Court, was arrested at that address at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday and charged with theft.
Denise A. Gaines, 32, of 244 Callan Ave., was arrested at 300 Chicago Ave. at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday and charged with battery. She is due in court on Oct. 2 at 1: 30 p.m.
A tablet computer was taken from an unlocked 2016 Toyota in the 500 block of Dodge Avenue between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 11:19 a.m. Thursday.
Burglars stole a purse with a cell phone from an unlocked residence in the 3000 block of Grant Street around 1:45 a.m. today.
Someone broke the windshield of a 2016 Mazda in the 2400 block of Howard Street around 5 p.m. yesterday.
Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of Sherman Avenue at 5:34 p.m. yesterday.
Police received a report of a man with a gun in the 700 block of Clark Street about 1:30 a.m. today. They checked the area but found no man with a gun.
An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
