Anthony J. Verthein, 26, of 13811 S. Western Ave., Blue Island, was arrested at 600 Oakton St. at 11:24 a.m. yesterday and charged with assault when he asserted that he would shoot the owner of the bicycle he was riding, police said. Verthein is due in court on Oct. 15 at 9 a.m.

A 2016 Nissan was damaged on both the driver’s and passenger’s side in an apartment parking space in the 200 block of Brown Avenue between 9 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. yesterday.

Alcoholic products were stolen from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 3:17 p.m. yesterday.

1128 Chicago
Anthony A. Richardson, 42, of 9747 S. Yield Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1128 Chicago Ave. at 11:14 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft.
2209 Howard
Sharifullah Khair Khwa, 28, of 7524 N. Damen Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2209 Howard St. at 6:32 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft.He is due in court on Oct. 29 at 9 a.m.
1600 Maple
A bicycle was stolen from the sidewalk in the 1600 block of Maple Avenue between 9 a.m. aand 5 p.m. Wednesday.
An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
