2 apartments burglarized on Ridge

Burglars hit two apartments in the same complex in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue. These among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

2200 Ridge

Computers and stereo equipment were taken in the burglary of an unlocked apartment in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 3 a.m. Friday.

A purse and computer equipment were taken in the burglary of an unlocked apartment in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue between midnight Thursday and 6 a.m. yesterday.

800 Dobson

Miscellaneous merchandise was stolen from a truck parked in the 800 block of Dobson Street between 12:50 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Battery

1454 Elmwood

Rodrick K. Siner, 44, of 8435 Prestine Loop, Codorva,  Tenn., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 6:08 p.m. Tuesday and charged with domestic battery.

355 Ridge

James L. Torrey, 31, of 7209 S. Constance Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 355 Ridge Ave. at 1:06 p.m. Friday and charged with battery. He is due in court on Dec. 23 at 9 a.m.

Criminal Damage

600 Hinman

Someone damaged the rear window wiper of a 2013 Honda in an apartment parking space in the 600 block of Hinman Avenue between 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. yesterday.

1400 Sherman

A rear window was shattered on a 2019 Dodge in the 1400 block of Sherman Avenue between 5 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Friday.

Graffiti

2900 Central

Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 2900 block of Central Street at 9:10 a.m. Friday.

Other

7535 Western

Andre T. Johnson, 25, of 2121 Darrow Ave., was arrested at 7535 N. Western Ave., Chicago, at 1:50 a.m. today and charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

Shots Heard

1900 Grey

Gunshots were reported in the 1900 block of Grey Avenue at 7 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

2400 Howard

Alcoholic products were taken from a grocery store in the 2400 block of Howard Street around 6:39 p.m. Saturday.

1600 Chicago

Food items were taken from Whole Foods in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue at 1:54 p.m. Friday.

!400 Chicago

A motorized wheelchair belonging to a 47-year-old man that had been left unattended while being charged in the hallway of an apartment building in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue was taken between 1:30 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. Friday.

1100 Chicago

Alcoholic products were taken from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 1:18 p.m. Saturday.

1200 Elmwood

A wallet was removed from the pocket of a coat at a home in the 1200 block of Elmwood Avenue between 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

739 Howard

Robert J. Merschantz, 37, of 1247 W. Estes Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 739 Howard St. at 6:12 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft.

Traffic

Ridge at Greenwood

Bianica Patrice Branch, 37, of 7515 N. Greenview Ave., Chicago, was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Greenwood Street at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Dec. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

417 Sherman

Torrey T. Farris, 18, of 1713 Leland Ave., was arrested at 417 Sherman Ave. at 4:33 p.m. on Oct. 17 and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Nov. 13 at 10:30 a.m.

622 Ridge

Zamaya Renee Hemphill, 19, of 717 W. McAlister, Waukegan, was arrested at 622 Ridge Ave. at 12:59 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Dec. 16 at 9 a.m.

McCormick at Emerson

Steven Marcelino Reyes, 19, of 1833 Hovland Court, was arrested at McCormick Boulevard and Emerson Street at 9:32 p.m. on Oct. 23 and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Dec. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

1899 Lee

David M. Stamer, 64, of 8127 Keating, Skokie, was arrested at 1899 Lee St. at 4:06 p.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Dec. 23 at 9 a.m.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
