A burglar made an unsuccessful attempt to drill out the lock to the front door of a neon sign maker, Neon Design, in the 500 block of Howard Street, between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9:10 a.m. yesterday.
Charles F. Conrad, 55, of 336 ½ Washington Ave., Glencoe, was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 1:47 p.m. yesterday and charged with domestic battery.
Carl H. Dennison, 37, of 2014 Wesley Ave., was arrested at 1164 Dodge Ave. at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and charged with unlawful use of a weapon.
Alcoholic products were taken from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 1:33 p.m. yesterday.
Michael P. Murphy, 40, of 1458 Chicago Ave., was arrested at that address at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Dec. 11 at 9 a.m.
Jose Eduardo Reyes, 48, of 1932 Brown Ave., was arrested at 11:13 a.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Dec. 4 at 10:30 a.m.
An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
