Volvo stolen from apartment garage on Hinman

A resident of an apartment building in the 1500 block of Hinman Avenue  reported her 2015 Volvo was stolen from its parking space in the building’s garage. This among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Theft

1500 Hinman

A blue 2015 Volvo was reported missing from its parking space in the garage of an apartment building in the 1500 block of Hinman Avenue. The vehicle was stolen between Nov. 21 and noon Saturday. The vehicle’s owner, a 79-year-old resident of the building, told police she suspects that she left her keys in the vehicle.

2300 Howard

Someone stole three Galaxy watches from a retail establishment in the 2300 block of Howard Street around 12:35 a.m. Friday.

2200 Oakton

A pickpocket stole a Coach purse and cash from a 61-year-old Wilmette woman at Home Depot in the 2200 block of Oakton Street around 8:30 a.m. Friday.

1100 Chicago

Merchandise was taken from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 6 p.m. Saturday.

1700 Oak

A black men’s Trek hybrid bicycle was taken from an apartment parking space in the 1700 block of Oak Avenue between 1 a.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. yesterday.

1100 Howard

A sponge brush was reported stolen from a beauty salon in the 1100 block of Howard Street around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Battery

131 Clyde

Steve T. Rubel, 54, of 131 Clyde Ave. was arrested at that address at 5:14 p.m. Wednesday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Dec. 4 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

1400 Dodge

An unlocked 2011 Toyota was burglarized in the 1400 block of Dodge Avenue between 11 p.m. yesterday and 2:30 a.m. today.

2500 Ridge

Burglars shattered the rear windows to enter a vehicle in a business parking lot in the 2500 block of Ridge Avenue between 3:15 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. Wednesday.

1200 Emerson

Someone removed the lock to steal a Trek bicycle in an apartment storage area in the 1200 block of Emerson Avenue between Nov. 24 and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

2100 Ashland

An unlocked door provided access to a 2015 Lexus in a business parking lot around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

2300 Emerson

An unlocked 2006 Toyota was accessed by burglars between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 7:37 p.m. Saturday.

Criminal Damage

2300 Main

Someone punched the passenger side windshield of a 2013 Chevrolet in a business parking lot in the 2300 block of Main Street around 2:46 p.m. Friday.

1100 Asbury

Tires were found punctured on a 2011 Toyota in the 1100 block of Asbury Avenue between 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:55 a.m. Thursday.

1000 Asbury

Tires were punctured on a 2014 Ford in the 1000 block of Asbury Avenue between 2:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

1700 Dodge

Someone broke windows of an apartment in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue around 9 p.m. Thursday.

Traffic

Howard at Grey

Victoria L. Morrison, 51, of 1400 Brummel St., was arrested at Howard Street and Grey Avenue at midnight today and charged with driving under the influence.

1425 Howard

Levi Perez, 65, of 4227 N. Lawndale Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1425 Howard St. at 6:48 p.m. Friday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Jan. 28 at 10:30 a.m.

999 Howard

Paula Jones, 55, of 309 Custer Ave., was arrested at 999 Howard St. at 8:41 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Dec. 26 at 10:30 a.m.

Washington at Ridge

Daniel J. Sanders, 33, of 7818 S. Marquette Ave., Chicago, was arrested at Washington Street and Ridge Avenue at 9:33 a.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Dec. 18 at 1:30 p.m.

Ridge at Dempster

Perry Anthony Smith, 28, of 8927 S. Emerald Ave., Chicago, was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Dempster Street at 1:04 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Dec. 13 at 10:30 a.m.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
