3 wallets reported stolen

Three wallets were reported stolen recently at two restaurants and the McGaw YMCA. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Theft

700 Chicago

Someone removed a wallet from a coat pocket at a restaurant in the 700 block of Chicago Avenue around 10:15 a.m. Friday.

800 Grove

Someone removed a wallet from a purse at a restaurant in the 800 block of Grove Street at about 10:30 a.m. Friday.

1000 Grove

A wallet was taken from a locked locker at the McGaw YMCA between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday.

1600 Sherman

A Google Home System was stolen from a convenience store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between noon Thursday and 11:23 a.m. Friday.

1600 Chicago

An alcoholic product was stolen from a grocery store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue around 1 p.m. Saturday.

2100 Dempster

A white 2019 GMC vehicle was reported stolen from a retail establishment in the 2100 block of Dempster Street around 5 p.m. on Feb. 3.

9000 LaVergne

Dionte Dorch, 25, of 5250 S. Marin Luther King Dr., Chicago, and Darnell L. Wilson, 21, of 7944 S. Sangamon St., Chicago, were arrested at 9000 LaVergne Ave., Chicago, at 1:45 p.m. Friday and charged with ID theft.

9000 Bronx

Javon Readus, 22, of 2413 E. 73rd St., Chicago, was arrested at 9000 Bronx Ave., Chicago, at 1:30 p.m. Friday and charged with ID theft.

Criminal Damage

1300 Cleveland

Someone broke a planter in the yard of a home in the 1300 block of Cleveland Street around 3:30 p.m. yesterday.

1600 Benson

The window of a bus was broken in the 1600 block of Benson Avenue between 12:30 p.m. and 1:14 p.m. yesterday.

Drugs

400 Chicago

Elijah Emil Murphy, 24, of 504 N. Oak St., Bloomington, Ill., was arrested at 400 Chicago Ave. at 6:53 p.m. yesterday and charged with possession of cannabis.

Shots Heard

Reba at Sherman

Gunshots were reported at Reba Place and Sherman Avenue at 6:45 p.m. Friday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Traffic

Howard at Asbury

Jose Maldonado, 32, of 6658 N. Rockwell Ave., Chicago, was arrested at Howard Street and Asbury Avenue at 6:09 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on March 10 at 10:30 a.m.

700 Ridge

Melissa Praman Molitor, 45, of 2227 Payne St., was arrested at 700 Ridge Ave. at 7:11 p.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
