Bike stolen on Central Street

A bicycle was stolen from an apartment common area in the 2900 block of Central Street.  This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Theft

2900 Central

An unsecured bicycle was stolen from an apartment common area in the 2900 block of Central Street around 12:12 p.m. yesterday.

100 Asbury

Hygiene products were taken from the shelves at the CVS Pharmacy in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue between 2:50 p.m. and 2:56 p.m. yesterday.

Battery

104 Front

Elijah Emil Murphy, 24, of 855 Hinman Ave., was arrested at 104 W. Front St., Bloomington, at 4:22 p.m. yesterday and charged with aggravated battery in connection with the shooting of a 28-year-old Evanston woman last month on Howard Street. He is being held in Cook County Jail on $500,000 bond and is due in court on May 28 at 1:30 p.m.

Graffiti

800 Noyes

Graffiti was discovered at a restaurant in the 800 block of Noyes Street at 1:18 p.m. yesterday.

1400 Leonard

Graffiti was discovered at a park in the 1400 block of Leonard Place at 1:19 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

1321 Oakton

Leonel Vergara, 64, of 1631 W. Farwell St., Chicago, was arrested at 1321 Oakton St. at 10:26 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on June 23 at 1:30 p.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
