Drugs were taken by shoplifters from the Jewel/Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 9:38 a.m. yesterday.

Baby food was taken by shoplifters from the Jewel/Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 11:02 a.m. yesterday.

1224 Chicago

Alonzo D. Smith, 47, of 1515 W. Monroe Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1224 Chicago Ave. at 3:16 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on July 30 at 9 a.m.

Graffiti

600 Forest

Graffiti was discovered on a public building in the 600 block of Forest Avenue at 4:06 p.m. yesterday.

Shots Heard

700 Dewey

Gunshots were reported in the 700 block of Dewey Avenue at 12:36 a.m. today. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
