Cell phones taken in sidewalk robberies

Cell phones were taken in recent sidewalk robberies in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue and the 800 block of Dobson Street . These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Robbery

100 Asbury

Cash and a cell phone were among items taken during a sidewalk robbery in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue at about 6 p.m. Monday.

800 Dobson

A cell phone was taken in a sidewalk robbery in the 800 block of Dobson Street around 9 p.m. yesterday.

Battery

706 Hinman

George A. Wilson, 40, of 706 Hinman Ave., was arrested at that address at 10:42 a.m. yesterday and charged with domestic battery.

Graffiti

800 Davis

Graffiti was discovered on the street in the 800 block of Davis Street at 2:19 p.m. yesterday.

Shots Heard

800 Brummel

Gunshots were reported in the 800 block of Brummel Street at 6:36 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

800 Florence

An unsecured bicycle was taken from the yard of a home in the 800 block of Florence Avenue between noon Monday and 12:27 p.m. yesterday.

2200 Oakton

Power and hand tools were taken from the pickup bed of a 2008 Chevrolet in the 2200 block of Oakton Street around 7:15 p.m. yesterday.

1100 Chicago

Alcoholic products were stolen from the Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 6 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

1400 Sherman

Savon Tremain Griffith, 26, of 1123 Emerson St., was arrested in the 1400 block of Sherman Avenue at 5:30 p.m. on June 16 and charged with a traffic violation.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
