Stolen phone, keys, cash

An unattended phone and keys were stolen from an office on Chicago and cash was stolen from an unlocked car on Princeton. These are among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Battery

355 Ridge
James M. Martin, 38, 5319 W. Hirsch St. in Chicago, was arrested at 355 Ridge Ave. at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday and charged with battery.

Burglary

2500 Princeton
Cash was taken from an unlocked 2016 Subaru parked in a residential driveway in the 2500 block of Princeton Avenue between 2 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Criminal damage to property

2400 Main
A screen was shattered in the parking lot in the 2400 block of Main Street between 7:50 and 8:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Theft

1300 Chicago
A cell phone and keys were taken while unsecured in a medical office in the 1300 block of Chicago Avenue between 5:40 and 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.


Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
