Arrests for DUI, traffic and domestic battery

Police stopped two drivers in the early hours this morning and charged one with driving under the influence and the other with a traffic violation. Unsecured cash was stolen from a home on Emerson. These are among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Battery

1454 Elmwood Ave.
Lookman Mohammed Ashiru, 58, 820 Seward St., was arrested at the Evanston Police station at 1454 Elmwood Ave. at 11:19 a.m. Wednesday and charged with domestic battery. He is scheduled to appear in court at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 19.

Driving under the influence

Emerson and Orrington
Jesus A. Villasenor, 20, 911 Sherman Ave., was arrested at the corner of Emerson Street and Orrington Avenue at 1:22 this morning and charged with driving under the influence. He is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Dec. 31.

Theft

2000 Emerson
Unsecured cash was stolen from a single family home in the 2000 block of Emerson Street between 4:30 and 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Traffic

2008 Dempster
Martin J. Freeman, 49, 1567 Ridge Ave., was arrested at 2008 Dempster St. at 12:54 this morning and charged with a traffic violation. He is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Jan. 17.
