Twenty-six student musicians from Evanston Township High School will join students from nine other area high schools in a special band concert on Saturday, Jan. 14.
The free Northshore Honor Bands concert at Lake Forest High School, 1285 McKinley Road in Lake Forest, will be held at 3 p.m.
Students were chosen to perform in the Northshore Honor Bands based on recommendations from their high school’s band directors.
Under the baton of two guest conductors from Northwestern University, Timothy Robblee, associate director of bands, and Daniel Farris, assistant director of bands, the students will spend two days in rehearsal, before the concert.
High schools involved in the Northshore Honor Bands consortium are ETHS, Deerfield, Glenbrook North and South, New Trier, Highland Park, Niles North, Niles West, Lake Forest, and Stevenson.
ETHS students chosen to participate in the grades 9 and 10 band are:
Flute: Angela Wong; oboe: Rachel Clemens; bassoon: Elena Marcotte; clarinet: Erin Rosenfeld, Josh Davidoff, Michaela Homer; alto sax: Jack Caplan; trumpet: Nic Slaggert; horn: Ben Foutty; trombone: Caroline Mattox; baritone: Edith Block; tuba: Emy Urban; and percussion: Joe Bricker.
ETHS students in the grades 11 and 12 band are:
Flute: David Flowers; oboe: Eleanor Goerss; clarinet: Daniel Mills, Troy Zwolinski, Lukas Gladic; bass clarinet: Rachel Jones; trumpet: Nathaniel Mitchell, Jessie Kennedy; trombone: Erin Reifler; baritone: Dominique Watson; tuba: Philip Strunk; and percussion: Jonah Angulo-Hurtig.
