Beginning Friday, Jan. 27, Evanston residents can start mailing in registrations for the city’s summer camp programs.

Registrations with postmarks of Jan. 27 or later will be given priority treatment based on the date of the postmark.

Registrations must be sent via first-class U.S. mail only. Forms sent in by any other means, including priority mail or special delivery, as well as those postmarked prior to Jan. 27 will be held for processing at a later date.

In addition, registrations may not be dropped off. Walk-in registrations will not be accepted until Monday, Feb. 13, which is also the first day that nonresidents can register their children for Evanston camps.

With more than 40 camps for ages starting as young as 2 1/2, there are many full-day and half-day camp options to choose from. New this year are an Adult Aquatic Adventures Camp on Tuesday evenings, a Teen Aquatic Camp on Thursday evenings, a late afternoon Parent & Child (age 3-5) Tennis Camp at Lovelace Park and a Volleykidz Beach Volleyball Camp for boys and girls in Grades K-2.

2006 Summer Camp brochures, describing each camp in detail and the registration procedures, are now available at all community centers and the Civic Center and online. For more details, call 847-866-2900.
