You can do your shopping in Evanston this weekend without even going into a store — thanks to the sidewalk sale today through Sunday.

The annual event is bigger than usual this year — with merchants from three neighborhood shopping districts — Main Street Station, Chicago/Dempster and Central Street — joining downtown merchants in the event.

More than 200 Evanston merchants will offer bargains on summer inventory — with participation by both independent shops and national chains.

The event includes unique designs at specialty boutiques, as well as classic clothes and shoes for work, play and sports.

Shoppers can park in one of Evanston’s downtown garages and from Davis Street ride the El to Dempster or Main street or the Metra to Main or Central street to check out the neighborhood bargains.
