Free cold lunches will be served to children ages one to 18 this summer on a first-come, first-served basis at four Evanston parks.
The lunches will be served Monday through Friday from June 11 through Aug. 17, except on July 4.
Lunch sites are Mason Park, Church Street at Florence Avenue, James Park, at the Fieldhouse west of the Levy Center at 300 Dodge Ave., and the parks adjacent to Fleetwood-Jourdain Center, 1655 Foster St., and the Robert Crown Center, 1701 Main St.
Program rules require that the lunches be eaten on site and parents must accompany young children.
Lunches are served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fleetwood-Jourdain and Mason Park and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Robert Crown and James parks.
The Summer Food Service Program is coordinated by the City of Evanston’s Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center and funded by a grant from the Illinois State Board of Education.
