A job fair for the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 at the Evanston Civic Center.

The program is for Evanston youth age 14-18 years. In order to be eligible to attend the job fair, youth must be enrolled in school and be at least 14 years of age when the Youth Employment Program begins on June 4.

There will be a total of 192 summer positions available; about 60 percent of those jobs are with the City of Evanston. Staff from the Youth Job Center also will be passing out information at the job fair regarding 45 School District 65 summer tutoring positions available for youth ages 14-16.

Youth are invited to attend one of the five remaining outreach sessions in order to learn about job openings and fill out an application in advance.

Job applications also may be filled out at the Job Fair or downloaded and completed in advance. All applications must be submitted in person at the Job Fair. The employment program ends on Aug. 10.
