A Chicago man was arrested yesterday and charged in eight burglaries of vehicles, mostly construction vans, in the Home Depot parking lot on Oakton Street, This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

2641 Gregory

TrevorJames Grimm, 28, of 2641 W. Gregory St., Chicago, was arrested yesterday at his home and charged with eight vehicle burglaries, including a number of construction vans, at the Home Depot parking lot on Oakton Street. He was also arrested on a drug charge for possession of a controlled substance. Most of the burglaries occurred this year in January and February, police said.

Assault

1711 Dodge

Safari L. Gallimore, 25, of 1800 Dodge Ave., was arrested at that address at 10:26 p.m. yesterday and charged with aggravated assault.

Shots Heard

1700 Dodge

Gunshots were reported in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue at 12:50 a.m. today. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

300 Dodge

A bag and its, contents, left unattended at James Park, was stolen between noon and 12:45 p.m. yesterday.

1100 Chicago

Hygiene products were taken from the Jewel-Osco store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 1 p.m. yesterday.
