Police say a driver for Norshore Cab was robbed about 9:40 p.m. Monday in north Evanston.

The driver said two men about 20 years old got into the cab and asked to be taken to Sherman Avenue and Central Street.

But they changed their minds and asked him to stop at Milburn and Sherman, a block south of Central, instead.

Once the cab pulled over, one robber showed a handgun and demanded money, while the other grabbed the driver’s cell phone and phone headset.

The driver told police both robbers were short — about 5-feet-5-inches tall. He said the gunman was white and weighed about 160 pounds while the other robber was black and weighed about 180 pounds.
