Teens are invited to rap, rock, and strut their musical styles at a special Sunday, Oct. 19, Battle of the Bands event in Evanston.

The session will be held at at Evanston SPACE, the Society for the Preservation of Art and Culture in Evanston, located at Union Pizzeria, 1245 Chicago Ave.     

Applications are available, along with eligibility requirements, on the Evanston Teens website. Completed applications must be submitted or postmarked by Sept. 27.

The top performance will win the opportunity to record a CD at SPACE. Other prizes include music lessons at Boocoo, 1823 Church St., entry to performances at SPACE and the opportunity to perform at the venue.

All Evanston musical acts are encouraged to participate in this open audition opportunity, but each group must have at least one high-school aged member who is an Evanston resident.
