Bail has been set at $650,000 for a Chicago teenager charged with shooting another teen behind the Evanston Police outpost in the 600 block of Howard Street early Friday morning.

Lindon Watts, 17, of the 7300 block of North Damen Avenue, was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm and other weapons offenses.

He was arrested by Evanston and Skokie police at an address in Skokie on Saturday.

Police say Watts knew the 17-year-old victim and shot him because he believed the victim had given police information about Watts’ alleged gang activities.

Police say the victim, who’s in stable condition at St. Francis Hospital, named Watts as the person who shot him.
