Teen robbed at gunpoint

Update 10:35 p.m.: Evanston police say a 17-year-old youth was robbed at gunpoint about 7:45 this evening near the intersection of Ashland Avenue and Lyons Street.

The gunman, described as a black male wearing black clothes and a blue hat, reportedly held a silver handgun in his left hand as he forced the victim to turn over $320 — mostly in $100 and $20 bills.The gunman also had an accomplice, Deputy Chief Jay Parrott says, and the victim, who lives in Evanston, told police he recognized one of the robbers.

Police were searching for the two suspects — who are both believed to be 17 or 18 years old. The victim wasn't injured in the incident.
