Evanston/Skokie School District 65 announced Monday that tentative agreement has been reached with the District Educator’s Council (DEC) on a new four-year contract with the district’s teachers.
There was no immediate comment from DEC, nor were there any details of the agreement immediately available.
Superintendent Hardy Murphy, in a news release, hailed the agreement, reached early Monday morning, as “fair to our teachers, fair to our community, and fair to our students.”
Board President Katie Bailey added: “We look forward to a successful start to our school year…Our teachers can confidently start school this week, and our students can begin the school year as planned.”
The release stated that terms of the agreement are subject to teacher ratification and Board approval next month.
