Evanston Mayor Steve Hagerty says the new COVID-19 relief bill approved by Congress and signed by the president today will provide a lot of assistance for Evanston residents.
And, in an interview with Evanston Now late this afternoon, the mayor said that while he’s disappointed that a measure designed to help cities is limited to only ones with half-a-million residents or more, he hopes yet another aid bill will provide similar assistance to Evanston and other smaller communities.
The mayor also offered his latest thoughts on how well efforts are going to “bend the curve” of the coronavirus pandemic.
