Theft

1100 Davis

A cell phone was taken from a health club in the 1100 block of Davis Street between 10 a.m. and noon on Tuesday.

500 Church

A tablet computer, left unattended at the city parking lot in the 500 block of Church Street, was stolen around 2 p.m. yesterday.

Battery

1454 Elmwood

Vance R. Simmons, 28, of 1833 Hovland Court. was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday and charged with aggravated battery. 

Criminal Damage

800 Florence

Someone damaged the passenger door of a 2012 Ford  in the 800 block of Florence Avenue around 9:38 a.m. yesterday.

Graffiti

1000 Dobson

Someone defaced the garage of a home in the 1000 block of Dobson Street with graffiti between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. yesterday.

Other

2126 Maple

James M. Mix, 54, of 3945 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago, was arrested at 2126 Maple Ave. at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and charged with failure to register as a convicted sex offender. 

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
