Evanston police arrested three people this morning after executing a search warrant for weapons at 2129 Church St.

Cmdr. Jay Parrott says members of the special operations group recovered at .380 semi-automatic handgun and ammunition.

He says they also  recovered a small amount of cannabis.

Those arrested were two residents of the 2129 Church St. address — Michael J. Smith, 20, charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and possession of a firearm without a permit; and Anthony R. Scott, 26, a felon on parole who was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis — and Jordan O. Johnson, 20, of 10773 Cleary Blvd. in Plantation, Fla., charged with unlawful possession of cannabis.

Smith is due in Skokie district court at 9 a.m. on May 24 and Johnson and Scott are due in court at 10:30 a.m. June 5.

    This is directly across the street from ETHS. The charges should be trumped up for that reason alone. Way to go Commander Parrott and crew!
