Three pedestrians reportedly were injured and two of them were transported to Evanston Hospital for treatment after a car jumped a curb at Fountain Square in downtown Evanston about 11:30 this morning.

Ambulances from Evanston, Skokie and Wilmette were called to the scene.

The car involved reportedly was a Toyota Prius. The car’s driver did not require hospital treatment.

Traffic around Davis Street and Sherman and Orrington Avenues was disrupted for nearly an hour after the accident.

Evanston police did not respond this afternoon to an emailed request for additional information about the incident.

In an apparently unrelated incident about the same time, an elderly woman fell and injured her head while walking through the square. She was also taken to Evanston Hospital.
