Evanston health officials reported three new COVID-19 cases today, while the city’s death toll from the disease remained unchainged at 68.

Chicago reported 198 new cases today for a total of 50,833 and three additional deaths for a total death toll of 2,526.

Across Illinois there were 601 new cases for a total of 137,825 and 36 more deaths for a total of 6,707.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported results of 20,507 more COVID-19 tests and a positive test rate of 2.9%, that’s up somewhat from the seven day average of 2.5%

The IDPH says it reported tests for 161 more Evanston residents today and they had a positive reat of 1.9%

All regions of the state remain on track to move to the next phase of the Restore Illinois plan on Friday.
