Evanston health officials reported three new COVID-19 cases today. The death toll in the city remained unchanged at 117.

Statewide there were 1,562 new cases, compared to 1,424 yesterday.

The Illinois Department of Public Health today reported that 58,709 people were vaccinated yesterday. The seven day vaccination average is up by 18% from a week ago.

A total of 10.04 million vaccine doses had been administered as of yesterday, about 79% of the total 12.55 million doses distributed to the state by the federal government. The IDPH says 35.73% of state residents are now fully vaccinated. The vaccination rate is 37.80% in suburban Cook County.

Reported COVID-19 deaths in Illinois totaled 26 today, dup from 12 the day before. The seven day average of deaths stands at 27.9, down from 29.7 a week ago.

The number of COVID-19 tests reported fell today, and the seven-day test count average is down from a week ago.

The IDPH reported tests of 224 Evanston residents today, compared to 1,189 yesterday. The IDPH found three positive cases here today. The seven-day positive rate here is down from a week ago.

The state now says Evanston has had a total of 4,875 cases. The city’s tally is 4,586.

COVID-19 deaths reported in Cook County since yesterday include a woman and a man in their 30s, a woman in her 40s, a woman and a man in their 50s, four women and two men in their 60s, a woman and three men in their 70s and two women and a man in their 80s.

As of last night, 1,930 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19, up by 24 from the day before. Of those, 489 patients were in the ICU and 262 of those were on ventilators.
