Coffee shop planned for the Albion development on Sherman Avenue downtown.

Evanston’s City Council is scheduled Monday night to approve a liquor license for what will be Dollop Coffee Company’s second location in town.

The Dollop General Store and Café is planned for a vacant storefront at 1508 Sherman Ave. in the Albion mixed-use development.

Plans call for serving coffee, desserts, pastries and café food with seating for 25 customers. Hours of operation are planned to be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Dollop Coffee has more than a dozen locations around the Chicago area — including a shared location with Hoosier Mama Pie Company in the AMLI development at 749 Chicago Ave.

A little to the north, at 1590 Sherman Ave., in the base of the Optima Towers condo complex, a milk tea shop called Moge Tee is planned to replace the Senior Helpers office.

It has received a favorable recommendation from the city’s Design and Project Review Committee.

The restaurant will offer counter service and have seating for eight customers. It’s planned to operate from noon until 9 p.m. daily.
