Evanston Police Chief Richard Eddington late this afternoon announced the promotion of three officers in the wake of the retirement this week of Deputy Chief Jeffrey Jamraz.
Evanston Police Cmdr. James Pickett, who has headed the problem solving team, is being promoted to deputy chief.
Sgt. Brian Henry is being promoted to commander and will be taking over the problem solving team assignment.
Detective Joe Bush is being promoted to sergeant and transferred to a patrol shift.
Jamraz had served on the Evanston force for 27 years, the last four as deputy chief in charge of the support services division.
