For the second time in just over a week an ice cream vendor has been robbed on an Evanston street.
Police say the latest incident happened just before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when four youths confronted a man driving a popsicle cart at 1703 Madison St.
One of the teenagers hit the victim over the head with a stick while another grabbed his wallet.
Police say the victim told them one of the teens was wearing a red shirt, another a blue shirt.
Update 4:12 p.m.: Alderman Ann Rainey advises that the victim in Wednesday’s incident is the same ice cream vendor who was robbed last week.
