Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl and business owners Shaun Chinsky and Bea Rashid have been named winners of this year’s annual awards from the Evanston Chamber of Commerce.

The three will be honored at the chamber’s 97th Annual Celebration on Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Crystal Ballroom. 

Mayor Tisdahl will be honored as Community Leadership Person of the Year for making Evanston a better place for its people and its institutions through: personal involvement and enthusiasm in a variety of civic and/or service organizations.

Chinsky, owner of Good’s of Evanston, will be honored as Businessperson of the Year for his active participatin in Chamber activities and demonstrating how business volunteerism can better the community.

Rashid, owner of Dance Center Evanston, will be named NonProfit/Public Service Person of the Year for demonstrating innovation, commitment and leadership, responding to opportunities with creativity and efficiency and creating awareness for her organization and its benefits to the Evanston community.

    Congratulations to Mr. Chinsky and Goods.   I’ve been shopping there for MANY years, and the customer service is above and beyond most establishments.  This is very well deserved!
