Out and About: Music with a Russian theme

Concerts featuring Russian composers are being performed by the Orion Ensemble and the Skokie Valley Symphony Sunday. A chamber opera by Benjamin Britten based on the Henry James novel “The Turn of the Screw” is offered at NU. You’ll also find jazz, country and folk rock around Evanston as well this weekend.

Out and About: Modern dance evokes change of 1960s and 70s

Modern dance and tango are featured in two dance performances this weekend. “Santuario/Sanctuary” opens as the third in Piven Theatre’s Identity series. It’s the final weekend for Second Act Players and “The ARC Trials” at Mudlark. And of course there's lots more on stage in an around Evanston.
