This year the Piccolo cast is on the high seas as they venture into the world of Sinbad the Sailor and his hilarious cast of friends, foes and yes, even the Dame Emphysema.

Day in the Life of Evanston

Hello Evanston,

My name is Joel Lerner, I grew up in Evanston and I'm a photojournalist for Pioneer Press. I'm participating in a project with 15 other photojournaists this Friday documenting Evanston for 24 hours on Friday Sept 28, starting at midnight.

If you know of an interesting person or organization doing something on Friday, let me know.

If you know of anything that happens between midnight and 4:30am on Friday morning, let me know.

Bennison's Bakery getting their baking done for the coming day would be an example of that.

Share your favorite Evanston spot, participate in theatre event

I'm organizing a walking tour of site-specific theatre events, all to be written by Evanston playwrights, and YOU can help. Just tell me your favorite spot in Evanston. Is it somewhere on the beach? A beautiful park? A lovely nook or cranny somewhere in our gorgeous city? If we choose your spot for the walking tour, a new play will be written specifically to be performed there---wouldn't you like to participate in that? Please share. Thanks for your help!

Photo contest winners displayed

The contest, now in its third year, was originally conceived to engage residents in recognizing the beauty and diversity of the Evanston community. A record number of over 70 photographs were submitted this year.
