The number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Evanston declined for a second straight day today, with six new cases reported for a total of 228. Statewide 1,197 new cases were reported, bring the state's total case count to 30,357.
"We're not yet at the peak," Gov. J.B. Pritkzer said this afternoon, adding that it will take at least two weeks after COVID-19 cases start to decline before he'd consider easing the state's stay at home order.
The City of Evanston will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, April 22, with a weeklong virtual celebration, April 19 through 26. "Earth Week" will include daily environmental-themed events and activities.
