Aldermen look 'presidential' on Civic Center

It is remarkable in how many ways recent actions and activities by members of the Evanston City Council, all Democrats, do mirror the actions and activities by members of the Bush Administration and the Republican Congress. Of course, there are huge differences in the impact these actions and activities have on all of their constituents, but many of the methods used are surprisingly similar.

City seeks firefighter candidates

The Evanston Department of Fire and Life Safety Services plans to administer a test for new recruits on March 10.

Anyone interested in a career with the Fire Department is requested to complete an application and submit it in-person by 5 p.m. on Feb. 23 to the City's Department of Human Resources in Room 1600 of the Civic Center at 2100 Ridge Ave.
