The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) will be closing one lane of traffic on Davis Street between Benson and Elmwood Avenues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday for track work.

The work includes the lifting of equipment and material via crane from the south lane of Davis Street as part of the 2013 Purple Line renewal program..

One lane of traffic will be maintained utilizing traffic control for normal one-way traffic. The sidewalk on the south side of Davis Street will be closed. There will be flaggers assisting pedestrians and traffic at all times during working hours, according to a news release from the city.
