A tree fell onto a house in north Evanston during this afternoon’s stormy weather.

The incident happened at 2031 Harrison St.

Jeff Murphy of the city’s inspectional services unit says the damage to the house wasn’t bad, considering the size of the tree.

Nobody was hurt, and Murphy and Fire Division Chief Tom Janetske decided the house could be safely occupied while the owners await repairs.

The tree that fell was located on private property and a tree service hired by the homeowner’s insurance company was expected to remove the damaged tree this evening.

Murphy said the roof of the house will be covered with tarps to prevent any water from expected overnight storms from getting into the house.
