A big limb fell off an elm tree in the back yard of a home in the 2600 block of Harrison Street about 7:45 this morning striking power lines and knocking out power to about 100 customers in northwest Evanston.

ComEd says it may take until 1 p.m. to restore power to the affected homes. Crews are working now to disentangle the tree limb from the wires.

Update: The power was restored at 2:55 p.m.
